Authorized Source Seal, Working Groups, Statistics and more

The FBDi has successfully extended its position as the leading organisation for component distribution in Germany. Several new members have decided to avail of the benefits of the association – from work groups all the way to the 'Authorised Source' seal of approval for members. Executive Director Wolfram Ziehfuss is pleased about the newly added industry experts:
Our new members further strengthen the association this year. We see this as an endorsement of our environmental work and our ‘Authorised Source’ seal campaign.
New members BLUME Elektronik, Bürklin Elektronik, GLYN and mewa electronic are active nationally and internationally, and are experts in their respective fields (see below for details).

The FBDi provides component distribution companies with a suitable platform that acts as a discussion forum, a source of meaningful market data, and a means of securing their position within the value-added chain. Highlights of the association's work over the last few months includes the new edition (in German and English) of the FBDi Environmental and Compliance COMPASS, a guideline on how to deal with environmental directives, and the association's own ‘Authorised Source’ seal of approval. It signals to customers that association members who have been awarded the seal of approval only place goods on the market from authorised and reliable sources - namely, manufacturers and their contracted distributors.

The new members are:

A medium-sized, owner-operated company, Blume Elektronik Distribution provides high-performance products and comprehensive consulting and service solutions for more than 30 years. Customers also avail of a special service that allows them to test products in advance in a dedicated measuring laboratory. The slogan ‘Partnership in Excellence’ not only conveys the company’s professional expertise, but also its personal touch that allows it to act as an intermediary between customers and manufacturers.

Bürklin Elektronik, a family-owned company based near Munich, supplies business and professional customers worldwide with articles from over 500 manufacturers from an Online shop and a modern logistics centre at the company headquarters. “FBDi membership helps us stay in touch with the latest trends and supports us with up-to-date information about new regulations and directives. Consequently, we profit from a reliable point of contact in an electronics world with a continuously accelerating pace of development,” stresses Alfred Lipp, Director Sales/Marketing.

The distributor GLYN brings its national and international scope of activities to the industry association. The company offers a wide range of products and systems from the areas of semi-conductors, displays, power electronics, sensors, wireless and memory modules and media. The focus at GLYN is on building added value with know-how and support. Managing Director Thomas Gerhardt explains why the company joined the FBDi: “Distribution today represents a very extensive and complex service for customers and manufacturers. Through our involvement in the FBDi, we want to make a contribution and expand our expertise in partnership with others.”

Specialist distributor mewa electronic stocks conventional types and values as well as required quantities for customers with framework orders or annual contracts. Alongside its core business as a distributor of electronic components, the company operates a metal department for metal parts for the electronics industry and a chemical department supplying potting compounds, film coatings and soldering pastes for the electronics industry.
